"While my mom was giving birth to me in La Ceiba, Honduras, there were some serious birth complications and I nearly drowned in my own blood. I was several weeks on an incubator when the doctors were finally able to save my life. This wasn't going to be the last time I was going to have to fight for my life. I've come to realize early in life that fighting is a daily occurrence if I am going to survive. While many may think this is a brand of nice clothes, "Square Up" is the mindset to maintain throughout your life's journey. I have personally seen what "SQUARE UP" has done for others. "Growing up overweight and not having the proper resources or guidance to fix it leads you down a dark road, which I found myself traveling. As an overweight child, I had to deal with being ashamed, having self doubt, inadequacy, depression and so much more. These feelings only got worse after the birth of my child. How could the person in the mirror ever be loved? But then, I took a stand. I decided to SQUARE UP not only against the number on the scale, but the mindset that I had adapted to. This brand reminds me of my journey of self-acceptance and love. My weight doesn't define me! I will love myself no matter what. "What does it mean to have resilience? What is it to have faith? How do we fight? These are all questions my wife and I asked each other every day when we lost our baby girl. Not a day goes by that I don't want to hear her voice. I often wonder how I could have prepared her for this world, or what it would have been like to hold her. " Life is full of battles, but we never know which one is going to be ours! I found this new fitness apparel line that really resonates with me. 6 years ago was supposed to be the happiest times of my life. I had my first daughter and became a mother. Little did I know, this would be the time I would face one of the biggest battles I've ever faced, postpartum depression. I was the first of my sisters and friends to have a baby, so I had no idea what postpartum depression was. I was so naive at the time and thought depression was just an excuse people used. Boy was I wrong. To make matters worse, I found out two weeks after having my daughter that I had a tumor that would have to be removed. Talk about a battle! The best thing I did was talk to my family. At first, I thought I was going to be judged and no one would understand. I quickly found out that was furthest thing from the truth. Together, My husband, sisters, mother and father helped me get through it. That's why I wear Square Up. Their message is Resilience, Faith, & Fight!
